Features What's in the app today

The designer, the developer and the tester. In one app.

A good small-business site usually means a builder subscription, a few paid plugins and someone to fix what breaks. Iris does all of it, and everything on this page works today. Where something needs an account of your own, like a payment provider or a host, we say so.

01 Design

Not a template. A design.

Template builders give everyone the same twenty layouts. Every Iris build gets its own Design DNA from 694 choices: pick as many as you like yourself, and Iris picks the rest while steering away from your recent sites.

The Look & feel step of a new website: twelve starting styles, each tile showing the same words in its own fonts, colours and shapesThe Look & feel step of a new website: twelve starting styles, each tile showing the same words in its own fonts, colours and shapes

22 kinds of website

Start from what the site is for: a store, a restaurant, a clinic, a portfolio, an event. Each brings its own pages, questions and fitting designs, across 31 kinds of business.

36 starting styles

Then fine-tune any part: 45 layouts, 26 font pairings from 103 open-licence families, 37 palettes with 5 accent tones, 29 opening screens and 20 menus.

97 art styles

Generative, geometric, textures, line and illustration, type and retro backgrounds, drawn by the site's own code. You choose how much: minimal, balanced or rich.

Directions first

Within a minute of starting, Iris shows three clearly different looks with your name in the real fonts. Pick one and every page is built in it.

Words with a voice

Choose how headlines and buttons are worded and how every page ends. Writing help suggests other ways to say things and leaves out anything that adds a fact you didn't give.

Finishing touches

15 photo treatments (arches, instant-photo frames, duotone), buttons, cards, form fields, textures, pointers, page changes and intros.

02 Testing and repairs

You shouldn't be the one who finds the bugs.

With most AI builders, you find what's broken and pay credits to fix it. Iris opens every build in a real browser at seven screen sizes, clicks through it, measures it and repairs what it finds, up to two rounds, before you ever see it.

The quality report: every check Iris ran in a real browser, passed or needing a fix, with Check again and Download report buttonsThe quality report: every check Iris ran in a real browser, passed or needing a fix, with Check again and Download report buttons

What is checked

  • Nothing wider than the screen, at 320, 375, 834, 1280, 1440 and 1920 pixels and laid out as a real 360-pixel phone
  • Text cut off, covered, overlapping or squeezed
  • Every link, menu, button, tab and form
  • Scroll animations play and end with their text visible

And the standards

  • Photos load, aren't stretched and sit where you asked
  • Accessibility with axe-core against WCAG 2.2 A and AA
  • Words over photos and art kept readable, adjusted on the page itself
  • Search and sharing basics on every page

The quality report

One page answers "is anything broken?", then the standards, page by page. A check that didn't run says Not checked, never Passed. Download it as one file for a client; Check again re-tests your own edits and uses no AI.

You asked for / Iris built: every design choice is listed beside what the finished site shows, marked Matched, Differs or Not measured, with checks for pacing and for website-builder template text such as placeholder names.

03 Editing

Change anything. Most of it is free.

Elsewhere, every little change is another prompt and another credit. In Iris the editor writes your changes straight into the site's code, so words, photos, styles, sections and pages cost nothing. Only a change you ask the AI to make uses AI.

Click to edit

Rewrite any words where they are, swap any photo, change size, colour, spacing, corners and shadows of anything you click. Undo and redo, with a full history.

Sections and pages

Drag sections into a new order; hide, copy or remove them; add one from the library. Rename, move, copy or delete pages. Change the menu, footer, logo and links.

The whole site at once

Colours, fonts and site style (buttons, text size, links, motion) change everywhere in one go. Save a brand kit for your next site.

AI edits, kept to one part

Describe a change to one section or page; only that part is rewritten, rebuilt and checked. Or pin several spots and apply them together.

Ask Iris

Ask about your site and turn requests into one-click edits. Lists (menus, team, prices, questions) edit as simple forms, and any site can have a real blog.

Only what changed is re-checked

After an edit, the browser checks and the AI reviews look again only at the pages the change can touch. Changes to anything shared still check every page. Faster for you, fewer credits used.

Your own fonts and brand

Upload your brand fonts, set your colours once and save them as a brand kit for your next site.

Backups and exports

Back up the whole site to your computer, and export your orders and customers as spreadsheets whenever you like.

Your photos, at their best

Upload photos and say where each goes. The photo studio fixes light and colour, removes backgrounds and crops to your site's shapes on your computer, keeping the original. Iris never makes up pictures of your team, place or products.

04 Selling

Sell from any kind of site.

Products, tickets, services or downloads, in your site's design. Payments go to your own payment account; Iris takes no cut.

Integrations: payments, store, marketing, forms, booking and more, each a card with what it doesIntegrations: payments, store, marketing, forms, booking and more, each a card with what it does

Your catalogue, or Shopify

Products, options, prices and stock in Iris, with delivery and pickup, sales tax or VAT by region and discount codes. Or connect Shopify: your store keeps the products and checkout, and the site shows them live.

Grow sales

Gift cards, a reminder email about a forgotten bag, reviews from verified buyers only and product feeds for Google, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok shopping listings.

Tickets and downloads

Ticket types and places, a QR code for each buyer and check-in at the door. Sell files too: buyers get a link by email after paying.

05 Bookings and members

Tables, rooms, appointments, members.

Visitors book on your own site and get a confirmation with a calendar invitation. Everything arrives in your dashboard.

Appointments

Services, staff with their own hours and days off, deposits through Stripe, and a waiting list that emails the first in line when a slot frees up.

Tables and rooms

Restaurant tables by party size and seating time; rooms by the night with the price shown night by night.

Calendar sync

Every booking in your Google, Outlook or Apple calendar, and your own busy times kept free on the site.

Memberships

Members pay monthly or yearly through Stripe to read pages under /members; the site's own server checks every visit.

Newsletters and forms

Sign-ups join your Mailchimp, Kit, Buttondown or Klaviyo list. Contact forms go to your email, Formspree, a webhook, HubSpot or the Iris inbox.

Accounts and orders

Shoppers sign in with an emailed code or a passkey to see orders and addresses; you see every order and customer and can export them.

06 Growth

Found, fast and ready to announce.

The things you'd normally hire out after launch, from translations to flyers, are part of the app.

30 languages

Translate the site into up to eight languages, each at its own address (/fr/, /es/), with a switcher in the header and every language in the sitemap.

Search and sharing

Titles, descriptions and link previews per page, a sitemap, structured data for search engines and a file that helps AI assistants read the site.

Fast on phones

Phone-sized copies of every photo, the main photo first and the rest as visitors scroll, and compressed fonts.

A launch kit

A brand sheet and logo files, social posts in every common size, print-ready business cards and flyers, an email signature and Google Business Profile texts, only with facts from your brief.

Your business on your phone

The published site comes with a phone app for you: today's sales and bookings, new orders and messages, with an alert for each.

An assistant for your visitors

An AI assistant that answers visitors day and night from your site's own information, helps them book and passes on anything it can't answer. It runs on your Iris Cloud credits, needs no API key and pauses with one click.

Alerts when it matters

New orders, bookings and messages sent by email, ntfy, Telegram or text message. Off until you switch them on.

Redesign the site you have

Give Iris your current site's address. It keeps your words, photos and products, shows you a before-and-after and prepares redirects so old links keep working.

Visitor numbers

Published to Cloudflare Pages, your site's own server counts page views without cookies or personal data. On Netlify or Vercel, connect Plausible or Umami. Cookie consent is built in.

07 Publishing and ownership

Your site, your host, your code.

Iris doesn't host your site, so it can't hold it hostage or raise your rent. Leave whenever you want and take everything with you.

Publish and domains: test the site as it will be published, then publish it to your own hosting accountPublish and domains: test the site as it will be published, then publish it to your own hosting account

Publish to your own host

Connect your Netlify, Vercel or Cloudflare Pages account once, then Publish. All three have free plans. Iris adds your domain's records where it can.

Download or push the code

A static site, the full source project (a standard Next.js app) or a store-app project; or push the source to GitHub or another Git host.

Test before publishing

Iris tries every page and feature as it will be published: forms, a purchase, an account, a booking, a membership, a download. Nothing is charged or sent.

Builds, previews and browser checks run on your computer inside a sealed container. On the free plan the AI runs there too. With Iris Cloud, your brief, photo notes, the site's code and its screenshots go to the AI model through Iris Cloud to build the site.
